Deep breath.

A busy day at work.  Took some time to walk over to Twiggs for a hot bowl of soup.  Looked good. Tasted good.

Practice

I haven't been playing my guitar.  As a result, my finger tips are soft. I got these calluses by learning the the song  Strawberry Blonde.

Strawberry Blonde

On Friday afternoons at my school we get down to the real business of learning--and have a jam session.  I'm learning to play the song Strawberry Blonde by Ron Sexsmith.  This is a beautiful song.

Digital

Tired driver heading home.  The rental car's digital display was soothing.

Contrast

Sunshine

Sunrise was at 7:56 am.  It took the bite out of the -31 temperature.  I am fortunate to have large windows in my classroom.   The plant on the window sill caught the warm rays.

A Rich Day

I took 33 photos today.  Snap, snap, snap.  It was tough to select only two for this post.  Lucky me.
The drive to work.
Future teachers.  Putting things together.

Symmetry

This train station, once the hub of all communities along the rail line in Northern Ontario is a beautiful example of symmetry.  Which reminds me of the importance of balance.  In life.  In art.

Started Cold. Ended Cold. Beautiful.

I had every intention of taking just a couple of pictures.  But when you are carrying around a camera with the idea of looking for something to snap--you tend to notice more things.

I walk under the pergola each morning.  Today I thought of my Dad.

A gift from a student.  Nice.  These won't last long.

"C'mon.  A little further.  Keep going," said the Stop Sign.

Finally got got my camera to transfer pictures to the Mac wirelessly.  As usual--updated the drivers!
Another super day of awareness.  Not always fun.  Not all smiles.  But the awareness was energizing.

Starting here

I got the idea to do a daily photo-blog from Stephen Downes.  So this is my first post, and being a bit too keen I have found it hard to post only 1 photo.  In time, I'll be more discriminating.

Here's what I saw today:
We had a great Christmas tree this year.  Here it sits on the snowbank--ready for pick up.
Walking to work at -27.  Hmm, getting in late.

The view looking out from Twiggs.

Coffee with Eric.

Incredible and important people.  PA.  Bernie Zweerman. Mike.  Jason.
The idea behind a photo-blog is to get something out quick and easy each day that shows where I am, what I see, and hints at how I feel.  Ideally I think you should try and narrow things down to one picture.  But in a blog, the owner makes the rules.

This series of photos reminds me of the richness of my day.  Wow.  Beauty.  Fascination.  Extraordinary people.  I certainly would not have reflected on the day and realized what had occurred unless I had started this photo-blog.

Mission accomplished.
